Jove is now heading into beta testing, which means it's available for testing on sites that aren't this one. Exciting, man. It's a closed beta right now, which doesn't mean you can't have it, just that I'm keeping track of where it is -- so if you would like to test Jove on your own site, email me.

The Forums are not included in the install, but you can use the ones here make bug reports / request help.

REQUIRED

To be able to run Jove, a server should be running PHP5.2+ and have the XSLTProcessor lib installed. Most servers do have these.

Jove is a fairly light-weight chat script, but it is still, you know. A chat script. So you need hosting with a fair bit of bandwidth at the very least and if you find yourself with a lot of traffic, possibly a VPS.

Jove Core (Account, Cities, Venues & Admin), plus two modules (Gallery, Quotes) are under GPL (or copyleft, if you prefer), which basically means you can take it and more or less do what the hell you want, except distribute it under a different license.

Further modules may be free or they may not. For instance, if you want something custom on your site that no one else has, that's not going to be free, but also won't be distributed.
